Terms of Service
Last updated June 2026. By submitting a device for service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
Tech Savior is committed to providing honest, high-quality repair services. These Terms of Service are designed to clearly set expectations on both sides. We stand behind our work and will always make right anything that is fairly within our control — these terms simply address the realities of electronic repair that are beyond any technician's control.
1. Scope of Services
Tech Savior ("we," "us," "our") provides diagnostic, repair, and data-recovery services for smartphones, tablets, computers, and other consumer electronic devices. By submitting a device for service — whether in person or by mail — you ("customer," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in their entirety.
2. Device Ownership and Authorization
By submitting a device, you represent and warrant that you are the lawful owner of the device or have express written authorization from the owner to submit it for repair. Tech Savior assumes no liability for devices submitted without proper authorization. You agree to indemnify and hold Tech Savior harmless from any claims arising out of an unauthorized submission.
3. Estimates and Work Authorization
Tech Savior provides a free diagnostic evaluation for most repairs. Before any paid work begins, we will provide a written or verbal estimate. No repair work will commence without your explicit approval of the quoted cost. If additional issues are discovered mid-repair that would change the scope or cost, we will pause work and contact you for further authorization before proceeding. The final bill will not exceed your approved estimate without your consent.
4. Inherent Risks of Electronic Repair
Electronic devices are complex systems with interconnected components. Even when a repair is performed correctly and professionally, certain outcomes may arise that are beyond our control. By submitting your device, you acknowledge and accept the following inherent risks:
- Component interaction: Repairing one component may place stress on adjacent or related components, which could cause them to fail — not as a result of negligence, but as a consequence of the device's internal architecture.
- Latent defects: Electronic components can contain defects that are not visible or detectable until work is performed or the device is reassembled and powered. Such defects are not caused by the repair.
- Deferred failures: Some components may function normally immediately after repair but fail days, weeks, or months later due to pre-existing wear, manufacturer defects, or natural degradation unrelated to our work.
- Non-repairable conditions discovered during service: Opening a device or performing diagnostics may reveal damage, corrosion, or failure beyond what is cost-effective or technically possible to repair. In such cases, you will be notified promptly.
- Unforeseen events: Circumstances outside our control — including but not limited to latent battery failures, short circuits, static discharge, or component failure during handling — may occur during the repair process despite the exercise of reasonable care.
Tech Savior will always exercise professional care. However, we cannot guarantee outcomes in situations governed by the unpredictable nature of electronics.
5. Pre-Existing Damage and High-Risk Devices
Devices that arrive with pre-existing damage — including but not limited to cracked housing, liquid damage, prior unauthorized repairs, bent frames, corrosion, or missing components — carry a materially elevated risk of complications during service. Opening or working on such a device may reveal additional damage, or the handling required to perform the repair may cause a compromised component to fail that would otherwise have continued functioning temporarily.
Tech Savior will note observed pre-existing conditions at intake whenever possible. However, we cannot catalog every internal condition before opening the device. You acknowledge that submitting a previously damaged device increases the inherent risk of the repair, and Tech Savior is not responsible for failure or additional damage attributable to such pre-existing conditions.
6. Incidental Damage During Repair
Some devices, particularly older models, heavily used devices, or devices with prior damage, contain components — such as adhesives, ribbon cables, clips, connectors, or aged plastics — that are extremely fragile and may fail during disassembly or reassembly despite careful handling. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Adhesive bonds that tear a display or back glass during removal
- Ribbon cables that tear during disconnection due to age, heat damage, or prior liquid exposure
- Stripped or corroded screws that break during removal
- Battery swelling or rupture discovered upon opening
- Connectors or ports that fail upon reinsertion
In such cases, Tech Savior will notify you immediately and discuss options. Where the damage resulted from normal repair procedure on a fragile component, Tech Savior's obligation is limited to offering a repair at our cost or at a reduced rate, at our discretion, rather than full replacement of the device or unrelated components.
7. No Guarantee of Repairability
Submitting a device for service does not guarantee that it can be repaired. Diagnostics may reveal conditions that make repair technically infeasible, cost-prohibitive, or unsafe. In such cases, you will not be charged for labor beyond the diagnostic fee (if any), and the device will be returned to you in the condition in which it was received.
8. Data and Personal Information
You are solely responsible for backing up all data on your device before submitting it for service. This includes but is not limited to photos, videos, contacts, messages, documents, app data, and any other personal information stored on the device or associated accounts.
While Tech Savior takes reasonable precautions to avoid data loss, certain repairs — including but not limited to motherboard repairs, software restores, hardware replacements, and liquid damage remediation — may inherently result in data loss regardless of technician care. Tech Savior is not liable for data loss, corruption, or inaccessibility occurring before, during, or after service, whether or not such loss is related to the repair performed.
Tech Savior will not intentionally access, copy, or transmit personal data on your device beyond what is necessary to perform the requested service or verify device functionality after repair.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tech Savior's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to a repair service is limited to the lesser of (a) the amount you paid for the specific service in question, or (b) the fair market value of the device at the time it was submitted, whichever is lower.
Tech Savior is not liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of use, cost of substitute devices or services, loss of profits, or any other economic loss arising from or related to the service, regardless of whether Tech Savior was advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, the above limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties (Except Our Repair Warranty)
Except for the limited repair warranty described in our Warranty Policy, Tech Savior provides services on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no warranty, express or implied, that any repair will restore a device to full functionality, extend the usable life of the device, or prevent future failures. Pre-existing conditions not addressed by the requested repair are expressly excluded from any warranty or representation.
11. Repair Warranty
All repairs completed by Tech Savior are backed by our lifetime warranty on parts and workmanship. This warranty covers defects in the replacement parts we install and errors in the workmanship of the repair itself. It does not cover new damage, pre-existing conditions, user-caused damage, or issues unrelated to the original repair. Full details are available on our Warranty Policy page.
12. Device Pickup and Abandoned Devices
You will be notified when your device is ready for pickup or has been shipped back to you. Devices not collected or responded to within 30 days of completion notice will be subject to a daily storage fee. Devices not claimed within 60 days of completion notice may be deemed abandoned and may be disposed of, recycled, or sold to offset outstanding fees, in accordance with applicable Texas law. Tech Savior is not liable for any loss of data, value, or property in connection with an abandoned device.
13. Mail-In Repairs
For mail-in repairs, you assume all risk and cost of shipping the device to Tech Savior. Tech Savior is not responsible for damage that occurs during transit to our facility. Upon receipt, we will inspect the device and note its condition. Return shipping of successfully repaired devices is included in the service cost. For warranty return claims, return shipping is also covered by Tech Savior. If a device is deemed unrepairable, the diagnostic is not completed successfully, or the customer chooses not to proceed with the repair, return shipping is the responsibility of the client. We recommend using tracked, insured shipping methods for high-value devices.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be resolved first through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached informally, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or small claims court in Tarrant County, Texas, at the election of either party.
15. Changes to These Terms
Tech Savior reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to this page. Your continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Contact Us
If you have questions about these terms or our policies, we encourage you to reach out before submitting your device. We're happy to explain anything in plain terms.
